Obituary of James Johnson

Passed peacefully away at St. Patrick's Mercy Home in St. John's on March 8, 2024, James "Jimmy" Edward Johnson of Northern Bay, age 82 years. Predeceased by his wife: Patricia "Patsy" in 2013. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, two daughters: Sharon (Don) Hall, St. Philips and Kelly Johnson (Brett Forsey), Torbay; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jessica, Weldon, and Madeline; special friend: Josie Sparkes, also a large number of other relatives and friends. Jimmy was a lover of nature and had a deep connection to the land. He grew his own vegetables, cut his own wood, raised animals, cut hay, and picked many a berry in Northeast Woods. He spent many days at his beloved Gull Island Pond trouting, walking, and in his last summer, sitting by the pond, enjoying the beauty and his memories. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, their families, and all his friends from the North Shore. Visitation at Noel's Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Monday, March 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass to take place on Wednesday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. from Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Northern Bay. Interment in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Northern Bay. As an expression of sympathy, flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to North Shore Trails Association, P. O.
